Choosing the best person for the job

For managers, the importance of selecting the most suitable candidate for the job cannot be overstated. For organisations, there are issues around effective selection; legal requirements, structures and approaches. The successful candidate will need to be able to meet the demands of the role, fit with existing teams and also fit with the culture of the organisation. Poor selection procedures and processes can be costly to an organisation in many ways for example, resulting in poor quality work, poor decision making, team conflict.
